Xchain is a distributed database creator, deploying security, version control, provenance, immutability, and portability to data. Xchain democratizes data creation and access by providing an intuitive spreadsheet interface.

Anyone can create her own distributed ledger as easily as using Excel.

Databases don't need to be complicated.

Currently, the power of databases are out-of-reach from non-technical users. Microsoft Access and other similar tools are not cross-platform, scalable, or web-deployable; they also lack enterprise-grade security, version control, and audit-ability.

Version control also doesn't need to be complicated.

​Version Control Systems like git have usher in a paradigm shift to software development collaboration. However, they currently are only applicable to text and files unfortunately, not tabular data or databases. Version Control Systems are infamously difficult to learn and use, prohibiting adoption by non-programmers.

Who We Are

Xchain is an early stage startup located in San Francisco, launching a new paradigm of data management software. The most widely use programming tool on the planet is Excel, yet it has not changed in decades. We envision a dramatically improved experience with spreadsheets, imbued with the power of a full-fledged distributed database. Xchain is the Visicalc of databases. We have experience launching and taking 4 companies through tens of millions of dollars of venture capital financing and acquisition. We are engineers and business leaders educated at Stanford and Ivy-League schools.
