HCU Test and Requirements Engineer will support the development and support for Karma Automotive. The ideal candidate will have product development and sustaining experience and have a proven track record of producing results.
Responsibilities
* The "Hybrid Control Systems Engineer - Software & Algorithm Design" position is responsible for the control systems algorithm design, implementation, testing and software integration of the hybrid vehicle control system. The job includes, but is not limited to: * Hybrid vehicle control system development using model-based design process, including: * Capturing control systems requirements for: core hybrid vehicle control functions, functional safety monitors, diagnostics control interfaces, etc. * Developing control system function specifications to major subsystems including engine, high voltage battery, generator inverter, traction motor inverter, DC/DC converter, etc. * Designing control algorithm using MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow * Implementing algorithm using Auto-Code generation tools (e.g. Real-Time Workshop - Embedded Code, dSPACE TargetLink) * Participating in control system peer design reviews. * Performing control system unit and integrated tests using MIL, SIL, & HIL environments * Specifying software test plan and requirements * Performing vehicle level hybrid control system validation * Interfacing with suppliers to capture requirements for successful hybrid vehicle control integration Provide training to manufacturing and service
Qualifications
* Excellent oral and written communication skills * 5 or more years of demonstrated hands on experience with control system architectures and control systems implementation. * Model-Based Control Design & Software development process * Experienced in control systems requirements specification * Experienced in control algorithm design using MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow * Basic experience/knowledge of using RTW Embedded Code/dSPACE TargetLink for Auto-code generation * Working Knowledge of On Board Diagnostics (OBD) Requirements * Experienced in structured analysis & design in software development. * Basic knowledge of software safety/FMEA experience including fault tree analysis, hazard analysis * Vehicle development & system integration * Basic knowledge of Electric, Hybrid or Plug-in Hybrid vehicles * 5 - 10 years of engineering experience
