Job Description

VMWare's Business Transformation and Automation (BTA) PMO works with key business functions and IT teams to enable new business models, deliver innovative capabilities and process improvement to support VMware's rapid growth. Initiatives span virtually every VMware business domain including Sales, Marketing, Channel Partners, Renewals, Operations, Support, and Finance.

BTA is seeking versatile business Program Manager to align with our Finance, Legal and Compliance portfolio. This individual will structure and drive the execution of large, cross-functional initiatives of business technology enablement, process and policy improvement, including change management and confirmation of success objective realization. The primary assignment is program managing VMW's enterprise migration from Oracle to SAP. This complex initiative requires an individual with superior programmatic organization skills, and the ability to drive business decision-making and influence a broad range of functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

* Planning & Strategy
* Oversee business aspects of program by constructing of project teams, charters, project plans, contingencies, success metrics and ROI measurements
* Work cross-functionally to establish and manage appropriate team structure for successful delivery across impacted organizations.


* Project Execution
* Manage all phases of program to success, including initiation, planning, definition, design, development, testing and deployment cycles
* Drive definition of business solution concepts in partnership with IT and business constituents
* Align program with other VMware initiatives and manage cross project dependencies
* Drive cross functional implementation of policies and procedures


* Stakeholder/Cross-Functional Team Management
* Establish a clear RACI around project roles and responsibilities.
* Manage cross-functional global teams (IT, business, 3rd party vendors, etc.) in a matrix management framework
* Ensure successful working relationships among project teams


* Change Management & Communications
* Facilitate change management and communication planning activities through project lifecycle
* Drive regular forums to update business communities and steering committee on progress, status and issues


* Risk/Issue Management
* Foresee, manage, and raise appropriate visibility to risks and issues.
* Drive resolution of any conflicts and escalate as needed to avoid roadblocks


* Governance
* Help in establishing standards for program management (monitoring and governance) including processes, appropriate project controls, methodologies, metrics, reporting, and tools to ensure the development and use of program/project management



Qualifications & Experience

* Education/Training
* Project Management certification or equivalent (required)
* BS/BA degree in Business; MBA or Masters (preferred)
* Process Excellence training (preferred)


* Experience
* 10+ years project related work experience
* 7+ years' experience leading major Programs/Projects in a complex, global corporate setting
* Project Management and SDLC lifecycle experience, waterfall and agile methodologies
* Familiarity with business domain-related technologies & platforms (eg. SAP, SFDC)
