Role Summary:The Project Manager owns the delivery of Utility and Telecommunications software projects safely, on-time, at the highest customer satisfaction and financial profitability. The project manager is responsible for scope, schedule, cost, contract, and risk management as well as quality and customer satisfaction of all assigned projects.
Essential Responsibilities:
In addition, in this role you will:
Own all aspects of solution delivery for assigned Geospatial Information System projects
Deliver business outcomes for our customers, profitably, in line with contractual commitments
Build lasting relationships with customers and anticipate their future needs
Ensure the timely and appropriate involvement of all internal and external project stakeholders
Develop and manage detailed project plans and schedules to ensure on-time delivery
Ensure resources are assigned and available to execute project work in accordance with the plan
Manage cost budgets and ensure clear alignment between scope, schedule, and cost
Manage risks, issues, and opportunities effectively and in a timely manner
Analyze project progress and performance
Identify variances from plan, risks, and emerging trends that may signal concern
Drive recovery and acceleration plans as needed
Report and review project progress, regularly, with the project team, management, and customer
Apply and enforce the application of established standards, processes, and tools
Adhere to compliance, safety, and integrity requirements
Qualifications/Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 6 years experience
Eligibility Requirements:
Ability and willingness to travel, domestically up to 40% of the time
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job
Desired Characteristics:
Bachelor's Degree in in Information Technology, Geography, Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related Engineering Discipline from an accredited university or college
Experience in Electrical Engineering, GIS, or Software Development
Demonstrated ability to influence and lead staff without a direct line management responsibility
Familiarity with DevOps and Agile Methodology
Working knowledge of Geographical Information System (GIS), Outage Management Systems (OMS) or Mobile Workforce Systems
Ability to successfully engage with executive level management, internally and externally
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Formal Project Management education and or MBA
Experience in the utility or telecommunications industry
Experience delivering software solutions to external customers
Demonstrated experience in project planning, scheduling, and cost control
Experience managing contracts, claims, and change with strong negotiating skills
