Developer Operation Engineers are IT professionals who work with systems operators, software developers and other staff members in order to manage code releases. They are responsible for bridging the gap that it exists between software development, operations teams, beta testers and clients. Because they need to be able to routinely multitask and deal with many urgent situations at one time, Developer Operation Engineers need to be extremely flexible and self-driven.
In order to succeed at their job, Developer Operation Engineers need to have at least a four-year college degree in computer science. They need to be very familiar with industry-standard coding and scripting techniques. Throughout any given week, they may also be responsible for installing and configuring IT solutions and implementing reusable components, and as such, they must be well-versed in both internal and external network solutions. Additional skills such as being fluent in JavaScript, Java, CSS, HTML and C are often highly valued by companies, too.
