A Front End Engineer is responsible for creating interactive functions on a company’s website that encourage users to engage. A Front End Engineer should be proficient in languages like HTML 5, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery in order to create interactive components for user interfaces like buttons, navigation and menus. Website templates and layouts are required for a consistent look between pages and across different devices. A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is usually required, and some employers may also ask for certifications from IBM, SUN, Microsoft or Oracle.
