Computer Vision Engineer Job Description

Computer Vision Engineers are specialized software engineers with an end goal to interpret the contents of an image from various platforms. They automate various functions that the human visual system can do. Computer vision engineers acquire, analyze, process and understand digital images by using various methods. Programming languages widely used in this field for image processing include Java, C++, Matlab and Python.

Computer Vision Engineers also design, construct and examine software systems for AR (augmented reality) and VR (virtual reality) experiences. These techs use Deep Learning and CNNs (Convolutional Neural Networks) for classifying and interpreting an image. They can observe image data in various forms, such as multi-dimensional and video sequences for medical technologies. These engineers will understand OpenCV, as well as calculus and linear algebra. They're aware of vector quantization and clustering to build search engines and systems. Computer Vision Engineers have knowledge of Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and other facial recognition machine learning models.
